The Apple Tree

from Coloured Out - E.P by HEARTWORK

/

about

"Some people are like there dads.

I can be at times.

The apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree. But we can try to change."

lyrics

Lyrics:-

I'll go down with the others.
At the end, that's where I'll be.
I'll meet you at the bottom of the lake where you buried me.
But I won't lay here for long.
How long's enough for you?

You're just like your father.
As soon as he's uncomfortable he runs away.
Now I've had time to recover from when you left me on the wall.
It's all OK.
I've burned these bridges all before & crossed them once or twice for you.

But, I can't blame my dad for this & you can't blame yours.
I never found a name that fit the box upon my wooden floor.
I tore the pictures up & then I found myself some space for something new.
And all they did was bring me down & keep taking up too much room.

I'll leave this where I'm meant to.
On its own to gather dust.
That's not to say that I want to.
I don't want to.
But I know that I must.
I'm not as weak as I once was.
I guess it rests here in my blood.
